Mahrashtra Govt steers clear of HC, leaves 855 buildings out of ordinance

Mahrashtra Governor S.M. Krishna signed into law on Saturday, January 14, 2006, the ordinance to regularise illegal structures in Ulhasnagar. But there is a crucial change: it will not apply to the 855 buildings whose demolition was ordered by the Bombay high court.

I still dont get wht the 855 buildings had to be left out of the ordinance.

The reason why 855 buildings were left out of purview of the ordinance is Mahrashtra Government wants to avoid contempt of court. The ordinance will be shown to the High Court on Jan. 25, which is the next hearing date of the case of 855 buildings.
